DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 5, 2009) — Yates Racing’s Paul Menard will sit on the pole for the Budweiser Shootout on Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway.

Joining Menard on the front row will be Richard Petty Motorsports’ Elliott Sadler as the 28 NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers drew for starting positions Thursday night.

Doug Yates on Team Progress, Signing Paul Menard and More

Even though both of his cars were victims of accidents at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, it has still been a pretty good week for Yates Racing co-owner Doug Yates. The team has signed Paul Menard as a third driver for the 2009 season and is coming off a pole run with Travis Kvapil at Talladega. Yates spoke about his team’s progress.

CIA Stock PhotoSONOMA, CA. — Kyle Busch is definitely the real deal. He won NASCAR’s Sprint Cup race here Sunday, completely dominating the race from shortly before the halfway point to the wild, caution-filled finish.

Three late-race caution flags bunched the field after young Busch had literally left all challengers in the California dust on a sunny California Sunday.
