WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Aug. 10, 2009) — Tony Stewart’s dream season continued unabated in Monday’s rain-delayed Heluva Good! at the Glen.

After a major adjustment early in the race got Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet handling the way the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader wanted, Stewart held off Marcos Ambrose during a 17-lap run to the finish and crossed the finish line 2.969 seconds ahead of the Australian road-course ace. WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Aug. 8, 2009) — When Marcos Ambrose and Kyle Busch came to the chicane or “bus stop” on Lap 64 of Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International, Busch stopped — out of necessity — and Ambrose didn’t.

Ambrose’s bold move into the chicane proved to be the winning pass, as the driver of the No. 47 Toyota held the lead the for the final 19 laps, winning the event for the second straight year. [read more...]

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Sunday, July 5) — Facing a Lap 54 restart with the Nos. 6 and 9 cars of Ryan Briscoe and Scott Dixon trailing, Dale Coyne said driver Justin Wilson had to hold off “two goliaths.” Well, that’s one for the little guys. Wilson provided Dale Coyne Racing its first IndyCar Series victory — in its 558th open-wheel racing start over 25 years - in the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen on July 5.

Wilson, whose only previous top 10 this season was third in the opener at St. Petersburg, also was the last driver other than one from Target Chip Ganassi Racing or Team Penske to win — at Belle Isle last August with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing. “It feels fantastic,” said Wilson, who started on the outside of the front row and led a field-high 49 laps. WATKINS GLEN, NY – Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas combined to lead 142 of 188 laps on the way to giving Lexus its first victory of the season in today’s Rolex Sports Car Series’ Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International.

Starting from the pole position, Pruett took the lead with the green flag and led the first 21 circuits. The #01 Telmex Lexus fell back in the field after a problem refueling on the first pit stop, but Rojas regained the top spot on Lap 62 and led the next 30 laps before handing the car back off to Pruett.

Target Chip Ganassi Racing driver Dario Franchitti added more fuel the TCGR/Penske 2009 IRL feud by winning the PEAK Performance Pole Award for tonight’s running of the Bombardier Learjet 550k under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway, in the process, securing another 2 all-important championship points.

Franchitti , the 13th qualifier on the 1.5-mile, high-banked oval, wrestled the provisional pole from Penske’s Ryan Briscoe with a four-lap average of 214.513 mph (1 minute, 37.6725 seconds) in the No. 10 Energizer car.

Brian Frisselle and Mark Wilkins led 78 of the 82 laps to win the Crown Royal 200, Round 12 of the 2008 Rolex Series season showcasing the Daytona Prototypes.
