Vitor Meira has signed to drive the No. 14 ABC Supply Co. Honda-powered Dallara for A.J. Foyt Racing in 2009 with an option for 2010. He’ll get a jump-start on the season by competing in the non-points Nikon Indy 300 on the streets of Surfer’s Paradise, Australia, on Oct. 26.

“I am definitely going into 2009 with a little extra motivation,” said Meira, who competed for Panther Racing the past three seasons. “I have raced against the team for many years and have heard cool things about them. Many people would give an arm and a leg just to meet A.J. and I am getting to work with him.”

Concord, NC) — Puzzles solved, two seats filled and one left out for now, with an almost assured announcement to come.

Target Chip Ganassi Racing (TCGR) and Dan Wheldon, driver of the No. 10 Target Honda Dallara in the IndyCar Series, announced today they have agreed to part ways. Dan Wheldon will be returning to Panther Racing’s No. 4 Honda entry

Target Chip Ganassi Racing announced they will be adding former IndyCar Series and Indy 500 champion Dario Franchitti as a teammate of the 2008 Indy 500 winner and current points leader Scott Dixon, as the driver of the No. 10 Target Honda. In addition, Chip Ganassi Racing and Target announced the details of their joint plans to take their partnership into its 20th season and beyond.

Dixon Caps Dominating Kentucky Day with ICS Pole

SPARTA, Ky. – IndyCar Series championship leader Scott Dixon dominated two practice sessions at Kentucky Speedway and punctuated those efforts by earning his fifth pole award of the season this evening with a four-lap 218.968-mph (1:37.3293) qualifying average.

The New Zealander will start a race on the front row for the second time in six career appearances at the facility. He has produced an average fifth-place start and eighth-place finish at the track since his 2003 debut.

Scott Dixon will attempt to win his fourth consecutive race at Watkins Glen. If he wins, Dixon will become the first IndyCar Series driver to win four consecutive races at one track. Dan Wheldon entered the 2008 season as the only other driver to win three consecutive races at one track (Homestead-Miami). Wheldon finished third in his bid to four-peat earlier this season. Dixon has won after starting fourth twice and second once. Can Dixon make history with a fourth consecutive win at The Glen?

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Panther Racing driver Vitor Meira had one of the strongest cars on the track last season during the IndyCar Series inaugural Iowa Corn Indy 250 at Iowa Speedway, where he led a total of 71 laps before a suspension failure ended a otherwise strong run in ninth position.

With the team riding higher now than they were a season ago, Meira is hopeful his team can continue its hot streak that started at the 92nd Indianapolis 500 and get his No. 4 Delphi National Guard car into victory lane. For Saturday’s Firestone Indy Lights events, Panther’s duo of Dillon Battistini and Brent Sherman will look to solidify their efforts on Iowa’s 7/8-mile oval.

Scheckter has led 371 laps at Texas, is a three-time pole winner and won the event in 2005. The team qualified fourth at Kansas and 11th at Indianapolis and had solid runs in both races? Dixon leads 115 laps, wins Indianapolis 500

INDIANAPOLIS, Sunday, May 25, 2008 - Another image will be on the coveted Borg-Warner trophy. Scott Dixon won the Indianapolis 500. Dixon capped a nearly perfect month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the biggest win of his career - the 92nd Indianapolis 500.

Early in May, Dixon recorded the fastest practice lap. On Pole Day, he posted the best four-lap qualifying average, and on Race Day, he led 115 of 200 laps, including the final 29, to take the victory.
