Two-Time Sprint Cup Champion to Drive No. 14 Chevrolet

INDIANAPOLIS (July 25, 2008) – Office Depot and Old Spice will serve as co-primary sponsors of Tony Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet Impala SS NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry beginning in 2009. Officials from the two companies, as well as from Stewart-Haas Racing, made the announcement today near Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 21, 2008) – Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Victory Lane has transformed itself into a Hall of Fame of sorts.
The list of winners reads like a who’s who of NASCAR. Of the 14 races, 12 have been won by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions.
The only Brickyard winners who are not also series champions are Ricky Rudd (1997) and Kevin Harvick (2003).
Also, “Kissing the Bricks” – the traditional celebration of the winning team – often foreshadows a series championship. Six winners in the 14-race history of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard have gone on to win the series championship in the same year:

JOLIET, Ill. (July 10, 2008) – Two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart has set his NASCAR future, and it’s as an owner and driver with Stewart-Haas Racing beginning in 2009.

Stewart-Haas Racing is the new partnership between Stewart and Haas CNC Racing, with the revamped entity slated to run two cars full-time in the Sprint Cup Series.

Two-Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Will Finish 2008 Season in No. 20 Toyota

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (July 9, 2008) – Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and Tony Stewart have agreed to part ways upon the conclusion of the 2008 season.

The two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion will finish the 2008 Sprint Cup season with JGR behind the wheel of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota. Stewart will also compete for JGR in the two NASCAR Nationwide Series races still remaining on his original, nine-race Nationwide Series schedule – July 11 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., and Aug. 16 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Stewart will pilot the No. 20 Old Spice Toyota in those two events.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 7, 2008) – Tony Stewart is in familiar territory. And if the past is any indicator, he shouldn’t be all that worried that he’s winless over the first half of the season.
The exact same drought occurred last year, with Stewart not winning until race No. 19 at Chicagoland Speedway. That win spurred a two-race winning streak, and wins in three of four events.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 30, 2008) – The July 4th weekend NASCAR tradition continues this weekend at Daytona International Speedway – the 50th running of what is now known as the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola. The milestone lends itself perfectly to a By the Numbers:
2 – Margins of Victory in this race that rank in the top five closest since the advent of electronic scoring in 1993. In 1994, Jimmy Spencer beat Ernie Irvan to the line by .008 seconds, which is tied for the fifth-closest MOV since 1993. Last year, Jamie McMurray nipped Kyle Busch by .005 seconds, tying the second-closest MOV ever.

LOUDON, N. H. (June 29, 2008) - Kurt Busch and his No. 2 Miller Lite team decided to go for fuel mileage Sunday, hoping to salvage a good finish in the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

For most of the afternoon, Busch raced under the radar while Tony Stewart, Casey Mears and a few others battled way ahead for the lead.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 23, 2008) – New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosts two of the most pivotal races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. The track is the first stop in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the final 10 races that determine the series champion.
But before that happens, NHMS this weekend will hold the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, the first event in the Race to the Chase – the 10 races prior to the Chase.
In other words, it’s “go” time.
