Edwards Ends NASCAR Nationwide Series Drought At Milwaukee

CIA Stock photoWEST ALLIS, Wis. (June 21, 2008) — All it took to end Carl Edwards’ year-long NASCAR Nationwide Series winless streak was to change crew chiefs.

The defending series champion had gone 36 races without a victory, and team owner Jack Roush decided that was enough. So Roush Fenway Racing swapped crew chiefs earlier this week, with Drew Blickensderfer taking over for Pierre Kuettel on Edwards’ No. 60 team.

Benson Wins Third Straight At Milwaukee

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (June 20, 2008) — Johnny Benson won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at The Milwaukee Mile for the third straight year Friday night, taking the Camping World RV Sales 200.

Benson’s victory from the pole position in the Bill Davis Racing Toyota was his first of the season and 10th of his NCTS career — all coming in the past three seasons. He entered the race leading the points and expanded his advantage to 50 over Todd Bodine.

“It feels great,” Benson said. “I could do almost anything I wanted. That last set of tires was awesome. This is way cool. I can’t believe we won three in a row.”

Briscoe earns first career win; 300th win for Roger Penske

WEST ALLIS, Wis., Sunday, June 1, 2008 - Ryan Briscoe persevered through 225 laps on a crowded 1-mile oval at Milwaukee to earn his first career victory in the IndyCar Series and the 300th victory in motorsports for team owner Roger Penske.

Briscoe started 11th in the 26-car field. He doggedly made his way through the field, finally passing Indianapolis 500 winner Scott Dixon for the lead on Lap 177.

Marco Andretti Takes First Career Pole at Milwaukee Mile

WEST ALLIS, Wis., May 31, 2008 - Marco Andretti became the youngest pole winner in IndyCar Series history when he claimed the PEAK Motor Oil Pole Award for the ABC Supply/AJ Foyt 225 at The Milwaukee Mile. The 21-year-old will be joined on the front row by 19-year-old Graham Rahal.

Andretti, driver of the No. 26 Team Indiana Jones presented by Blockbuster Dallara/Honda/Firestone, captured his first career pole with a four-lap average speed of 168.079 mph. At the age of 21 years, 79 days old he eclipsed the mark of Tomas Scheckter, who was 21 years, 260 days old when he won the pole at Texas in June 2002.
