WATKINS GLEN, NY – Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas combined to lead 142 of 188 laps on the way to giving Lexus its first victory of the season in today’s Rolex Sports Car Series’ Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International.

Starting from the pole position, Pruett took the lead with the green flag and led the first 21 circuits. The #01 Telmex Lexus fell back in the field after a problem refueling on the first pit stop, but Rojas regained the top spot on Lap 62 and led the next 30 laps before handing the car back off to Pruett.

Alex Job Racing signs Mitch Pagerey for 2009 Patrón GT3 Challenge season

TAVARES, Fla. - Alex Job Racing today announced that it added Mitch Pagerey to its Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama driver lineup for the 2009 season.

Pagerey, a Deerfield Beach, Fla. resident, enters his third full season of road racing after completing a successful 2008 campaign that included five PCA national club wins, four SCCA national wins, and two NASA of Florida victories. Pagerey enters the Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama as a rookie and will drive the No. 45Alex Job Racing Porsche GT3 Cup.

Alex Job Racing made a successful return to IMSA racing last season with a driver who narrowly missed winning the IMSA Challenge Drivers’ Championship by six points. This year, AJR looks to continue those winning ways with Pagerey behind the wheel.

Robby Gordon Motorsports Partners with Toyota for 2009

Charlotte, N.C. – Robby Gordon Motorsports announced Tuesday that they will partner with Toyota beginning in the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season for the No. 7, which is guaranteed a spot in the season opener Daytona 500.

“We are excited to be partnering with Toyota in NASCAR in 2009. After watching their progress last season, we decided that a switch to Toyota was the right package for our team,” commented Robby Gordon, owner of Robby Gordon Motorsports. “We are confident that fielding a Toyota Camry will add to the success of our organization and the competitiveness of our performance on the race track.”

After yesterday’s media buzz about the penalties levied against the Roush Fenway No. 99 team and the reprieve granted to Robby Gordon’s operation. There’s always the inevitable talk about NASCAR’s “Law and Order”.

I suppose I should add my two-cents worth.

For all intents and purposes, Carl Edwards didn’t win the UAW-Dodge 400. The records show a “w” for Edwards, but all other evidence, that being a good portion of the cash, points, including the all valuable 10 bonus points are gone.
