Luczo Dragon Racing returns to IndyCar Series competition at Texas with driver Tomas Scheckter (shown left) The team has added Texas and Chicagoland to the limited schedule they had planned for 2008. Scheckter has led 371 laps at Texas, is a three-time pole winner and won the event in 2005. The team qualified fourth at Kansas and 11th at Indianapolis and had solid runs in both races? Can Scheckter dominate at Texas with a new team?

Dixon leads Friday practice for Indianapolis 500

INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, May 16, 2008 - Sunshine returned to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and 36 drivers took advantage of the first complete six-hour practice day since May 6 to turn 2,164 laps on the historic 2.5-mile oval. Scott Dixon, who won the pole for the 92nd Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 10, topped the speed chart at 223.713 mph.

Dixon tops Fast Friday practice; drama turns to Pole Day

INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, May 9, 2008 - Fast Friday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway lived up to its name as a familiar name topped the charts.

Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon turned the fastest lap of the month to date (39.6531 seconds; 226.968 mph) to lead practice the day before Pole Day for the second consecutive year.

Rain Gives Castroneves Pole at Twin Ring Motegi Japan 300

MOTEGI, Japan, Friday, April 18, 2008 - Helio Castroneves didn’t have to do anything to earn the pole for the Indy Japan 300. That was taken care of during the first two IndyCar Series races of the season.

Castroneves will lead the field to the green flag at the 1.5-mile Twin Ring Motegi oval after IndyCar Series officials based the starting grid on entrant points when qualifications for the PEAK Motor Oil Pole Award were rained out.

Castroneves hopes to dance in Victory Lane
Helio Castroneves, the winner of the past two races at St. Petersburg and the winner of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” last November, hopes to return to Victory Lane for a third consecutive season. The affable South Florida resident has led 135 laps at St. Petersburg the last two seasons. Only two drivers have ever won three consecutive races at the same track. Dan Wheldon won three in a row at Homestead-Miami Speedway (2005-07), and Scott Dixon has captured three in a row at Watkins Glen (2005-07). Castroneves finished fourth in the season opener at Homestead-Miami.
