Schumacher, Wilkerson, Anderson and Ellis Win at Englishtown; Kalitta Honored

NHRA photoENGLISHTOWN, N.J. – Five-time POWERade Series world champion Tony Schumacher raced to his first win at Englishtown in 12 years of competition at the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals.

The event was overshadowed by the loss of Funny Car driver Scott Kalitta, who died from multiple injuries suffered after his car went out of control in the fourth round of qualifying Saturday.

NHRA photoENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 21, 2008) – Schumacher Electric Suzuki Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Chip Ellis rode a string of 6-second elapsed times to qualify in the No. 2 position for the fourth time in six races this season at the NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
