Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype Driver Focus — Laguna Seca Next Stop for Ryan Dalziel
By Bram • May 13th, 2008 • Category: Grand American Rolex, Notes, Your Series. Your Driver.Orlando, Fla. (May 13, 2008) - California’s Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hasn’t always been the happiest of hunting grounds for Scotland’s Ryan Dalziel but the 26-year-old aims to rectify that this weekend as he again partners with Orlando’s Henri Zogaib in the No. 2 SAMAX Motorsport BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype for Round five of the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Presented by Crown Royal Cask No.16, Friday 16th - Saturday 17th May.
Dalziel heads into Saturday’s ‘Rum Bum.com 250′ at the 2.238-mile road course eager to maintain the momentum built up from his first podium of the season last time out at Virginia International Raceway. Denied his maiden Grand-Am victory by a mere half a second, Ryan’s form looked ominous as he hounded former champion and series veteran Scott Pruett in the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus-Riley through to the checkered flag last month, team-mate Zogaib then accompanying Dalziel onto the second step of the podium for the traditional champagne shower.
Grand Am GT Class — Automatic Racing and the BMW M6 — David Russell’s View
By Bram • Mar 28th, 2008 • Category: Grand American RolexORLANDO, Fla. - Like any new race car our BMW M6 is undergoing numerous modifications in order to be competitive. We considered that qualifying 18th out of 42 cars at Daytona, 1.4 seconds off the pole, a solid first step. However, not unlike most teams, we are not in the series to make up the numbers and therefore must advance each area of our race car package. Subsequently, back in the shop our one-race old M6 is going thru a series of changes which we trust will move us closer to our 2008 goals.
