Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole for the Coca-Cola 600 with a lap of 185.433 mph/29.121 seconds.
It is his fourth pole in 126 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
This is Busch’s second pole of the year. His previous pole this season came at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is his fourth top-five and ninth top-10 start this season.
This is Busch’s first pole and first top-five start at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. He had only one other top-10 start in his LMS career – a sixth-place start in the 2005 Coca-Cola 600.
Kasey Kahne (second) posted his seventh top-10 start of 2008 and sixth at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Brian Vickers (third) posted his second top-10 start of 2008 and second at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Sam Hornish Jr. (20th) was the fastest of the drivers required to make the field on time. Hornish was also the fastest qualifying rookie.
