LEBANON, Tenn. -– If nothing else, Kyle Busch is spectacular. After winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday night, Busch smoked his tires so much they caught on fire. And then he celebrated.

An overjoyed Busch slammed the unique Nashville trophy –- a Gibson Les Paul guitar –- to the ground much like guitarist Pete Townsend of the legendary rock band The Who.

“What a great place to do it at.” said Busch. “This is the team — this one here is for the team. I told them I was going to give them a piece of that guitar. I can always buy another one so I gave them pieces. I want to thank the fans. It’s great for them coming out and sticking around and NOS Energy Drink, Z-Line Designs, everybody on this whole team, guys at the shop — they do a phenomenal job for us. We unloaded and we were good, not great, made it better and fortunately there we had just enough laps to hold off the 88 (Brad Keselowski). He was fast, he was coming.”

JR Motorsports’ Brad Keselowski (second) posted his fourth top-10 finish in six races at Nashville Superspeedway. It is his eighth top-10 finish in 2009.
Roush Fenway Racing’s Carl Edwards (third) posted his eighth top-10 finish in nine races at Nashville Superspeedway.
Phoenix Racing’s Mike Bliss fourth and Braun Racing’s Jason Leffler fifth.

Sixth through 10th were Stephen Leicht (Richard Childress Racing), Steve Wallace (Rusty Wallace Racing), Michael McDowell (JTG Daugherty Racing), Erik Darnell (Roush Fenway) and Brad Coleman (JGR).

Busch led four times for 173 of the 225 laps around the 1.33-mile concrete track, giving up the lead only for pit stops. He led the final 24 laps and beat Keselowski by 0.891 seconds.

Michael McDowell was the highest finishing rookie.

Kyle Busch leads the point standings by 65 points over Carl Edwards.
