Sunday Two-for-two: Biffle stays unbeaten in Chase

DOVER, Del. — Greg Biffle is up on the wheel. For the second consecutive week, Biffle outraced the field down the stretch and won the Camping World RV 400 Presented by AAA at Dover International Speedway.

Biffle, who ran with the leaders most of the day, turned up the adrenaline with 24 laps to go and dogged teammate Matt Kenseth for 15 laps before finally passing Kenseth with a eight laps remaining.

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 20, 2008) — Mike Skinner outdueled Erik Darnell on a green-white-checkered finish to win Saturday night’s Qwik Liner Las Vegas 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Saturday night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Running second, Skinner’s Bill Davis Racing Toyota bumped Darnell’s Roush Fenway Racing Ford on the final restart and went to the outside in Turn 1. Skinner cleared Darnell entering Turn 3 and took the lead for the 147th lap, one over the scheduled distance on the 1.5-mile track.

DOVER, Del. (September 20, 2008) — With a committee of crew chiefs — and in the face of some wishful thinking on the part of Mike Bliss — Kyle Busch won Saturday’s Camping World RV Sales 200 Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway in dominating fashion.

Busch led 157 of 207 laps in a race that ended with a green-white-checkered-flag finish after Landon Cassill and Steven Wallace collided on Lap 199 to bring out the seventh and final caution and send the event seven laps beyond its scheduled distance.

Random testing to go into effect beginning in 2009

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 20, 2008) – The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) announced today it has amended its longstanding substance abuse policy to include random testing beginning in 2009.

The amended policy mandates that all drivers in NASCAR’s three national series be tested prior to the start of the 2009 season. Team owners must also verify that all licensed crew members have been tested by a certified lab prior to the start of the season. In addition, NASCAR will test its officials prior to the start of the 2009 season. Drivers, over-the-wall crew members and NASCAR officials thereafter will be subject to random tests throughout the year.

The field for Sunday’s Sylvania 300 will be set by the provisions set forth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rule book. Chase to the Sprint Cup drivers will start in their seeded positions in the standings

The top seed in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Kyle Busch was third-fastest in Friday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for Sunday’s Sylvania 300. With rain canceling qualifying, he will start the race on the pole.

Roush Fenway Racing and UPS announced today that David Ragan will be behind the wheel of the No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion in 2009. The official press conference was held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway infield media center.
