Sieg was ranked as the fastest driver under green flag conditions of the race with an average speed of 182.354 mph according to NASCAR Media loop statistics. He was the fastest driver on restarts, second fastest driver early in the run and third fastest of drivers in the last 25 percent of laps run since a pit stop in the 100 lap, 250-mile race.
“Our finish didn’t show how well we ran last weekend,” Sieg said. “I second guessed moving lines and missed the push. I’m pretty excited about California. It’s my first time to the track and heard it is a fast moving, flat track. I know the track is a sister to Michigan (International Speedway) where I’ve raced once in the trucks. NASCAR has given us some decent track time out there, so I’m pretty sure we’ll be alright. The guys on the No. 15 team really have it together as far as set-ups so come race time we’ll be right in the hunt. ”
Billy Ballew Motorsports has one win (Kyle Busch, 2008) in eight starts at Auto Club Speedway.
Phoenix Construction and RedTop Auto Auction will return as the primary and associate sponsors for the No. 15 Toyota Tundra.
The San Bernardino County 200 (100 lap, 200 mile) NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated for Saturday February 21, 2009 at 12:00pm PT. Fox will provide live broadcast of the race beginning at 12:00pm PT with radio coverage on Sirius Satellite Radio beginning at 12:15pm PT.
