Kyle Busch Pole Winning Quotes:
Are you excited to be on the pole for Saturday’s race? “It’s pretty exciting to be on the pole here. I think 2004 was the last time I was on to the pole here in a Nationwide Series event. We looked forward today to the qualifying. When the winds died down there earlier in the day we were really struggling. I was, anyway, with the way the wind was blowing us around. I was almost scared to drive the thing. We weren’t very fast in the first one, but got going better in the second practice a little bit and made the car a little bit better here and there, and made some adjustments to it that we felt like would really help us for Saturday. Hopefully, we’re correct in those, and our assessment of practice today, we did pretty well. We’re looking forward to starting on Saturday from the pole.”
Are you as good as you were here last year? “It felt like it today. There were some times in the first practice there when we weren’t too ecstatic about it, but we got going a little bit better and felt like we got the car where it was driving good and felt like it was pretty fast on the long runs. We ran out of gas in practice so we knew that the tires were really old and the nose weight was all in it, so we felt pretty confident in the long runs.”
Matt Kenseth (second) posted his third top-10 start of 2009 and his seventh in 14 races at Texas Motor Speedway.
Paul Menard (third) posted his second top-10 start at Texas Motor Speedway. It is his first in two races this season.
Justin Allgaier (11th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
